And that is exactly where we will be spending our coldest days the next few months. Gathered around the coffee table, cartoons humming along in the background, rug burns on our hands and knees from dragging them across the carpet for races. And I can't really complain, anywhere with these babies is an amazing place to be.
Today we spent most of the morning and afternoon running around town, picking up the last of our Christmas shopping, knocking elbows with the hordes of bustling, busy shoppers. So when Bub's patience started showing his age and through whines and tears he explained that he just wanted to go home and blow bubbles, I had to agree with him.
So we just went home and blew bubbles.
We unwound ourselves right in the middle of our very own living room. And it was warm and full of giggles and an amazing place to be.
It was full of careful concentration---
Plotting and planning---
And subtle success---
It didn't take long for our laughter to beckon Daddy home, and then an amazing place to be turned into the perfect place to be.
I was so worried about this winter and the struggles of keeping two rambunctious boys full of adventure and fun during what, I was sure, would be the longest season of our lives. But looking around this living room, I think it's pretty clear that my boys are just fine. Inside or outside, hot or cold, my boys tend to find happiness everywhere.
This living room, it isn't very big, but it can hold so much. Bubbles and boys and tickles. Laughter and fights and forgiving. Games and cartoons and the snuggles that are so important at the end of our day. We have nestled in here for the winter, and I can't think of one better place to be.

Those kids are so cute. It's good to see the carpet on the floor to prevent accidents. Little kids are quite naughty so this carpet will save them in case they fall.
